A 40-year-old wooden structure originally consisting of an izakaya on the first floor and a residence on the second floor has been renovated into a bar on both levels. By removing the existing ceilings the warmth of the aged wood including beams, rafters, floors, and columns has been preserved.
The renovation also includes large open glass windows across the entire storefront creating a sense of a hidden oasis while seamlessly blending the space into the traditional atmosphere of Asakusa.
